Torna'm la vida

In Development

Sofia is a 62-year-old avant-garde dancer and artistic director of La Grana, the leading dance-theater company in Spain. When she learns that she will receive the National Dance Award, she postpones the show she is about to premiere.

The “Catalan Pina Bausch” is immersed in an existential crisis; she is a woman who has lived in movement, but is now physically and creatively stranded. She is pained by not being able to give the usual depth to her dance and has refused to go on stage in her last two shows. Superficiality bores her, she is an intense person who demands a meaning for everything. She is intuitive and courageous, but she does not accept her aging body and is disconnected from her essence.

When she discovers a young woman of exotic beauty (Julia, 26) full of vitality, dancing in the park with total freedom, her intuition tells her that this is the piece that will reignite her creativity. Captivated by her wild spirit, Sofia brings her into her company.

Determined to create an authentic, emotionally deep choreography, Sofia shakes everything up while experiencing a profound transformation.
